Summary: Sinking of the German cruiser "Frankfurt", July 18, 1921, by U,S. Aircraft (SE-5s) under the command of Gen. Billy Mitchell. Shows bomb strikes on and around the vessel. SE-5 down at sea, rescue of pilot, Lt. Culver, and salvage of the SE-5. Other personalities in film: General Mitchell and Pershing, and Sec. of War Weeks. John Wingate Weeks (April 11, 1860-July 12, 1926) was an American politician in the Republican Party. William Lendrum Mitchell (December 29, 1879 – February 19, 1936) was a United States Army general who is regarded as the father of the United States Air Force.
